RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING FIRST-QUARTER AMENDMENTS TO THE 2023-24 BUDGET FOR
PERSONNEL AND OPERATIONAL CHANGES
WHEREAS, certain personnel and operational issues are brought forward for the City Council’s consideration in conjunction with the quarterly financial report; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended to amend the 2023-24 budget for subsequent appropriations, actions, and costs as determined to be in the public’s best interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
1. Increase one Full-Time Assistant Recreation and Parks Director allocation; and
2. Authorize the purchase of 14 mini -electric buses utilizing the budget previously appropriated for the purchase of 5 electric buses in the Transit Capital Outlay Fund in fiscal year 2023-24; and
3. Increase appropriations by $215,000 in the Water Fund to fund the purchase of a dump truck (fleet expansion) for the Water Resources division; and
4. Increase appropriations by $175,000 to rent specialized equipment to mechanically dry the sludge in the drying beds to increase the capacity of the drying beds; and
5. Increase appropriations by $45,000 to fund the purchase of a vehicle (fleet expansion) for the Solid Waste Collections division for pool use; and
6. Increase appropriations by $1,000,000 to fund Construction Quality Assurance and Construction Management for the Cell I Liner Expansion Phase II project.
