Re: Request to be considered for Annexation; APN 128-071-006 Dear Members of the City Council;
I represent the owners of the 136-acre parcel located at the southeast corner of Stowell Road and Highway 101 (APN 128-071-006). There are numerous family members from Switzerland who are the owners of this property, all of whom I either have full power of attorney for the individuals, or am the manager of the LLC’s that have an ownership interest.
The family instructed me to take the property out of the Land Conservation Contract under the Williamson Act, and as a result this property went into non- renewal in 2017. The family is interested in having the property considered for annexation to the City of Santa Maria. Their feeling is that this land is appropriate for consideration of future development of commercial, retail, institutional or industrial uses. Please consider this request as you consider the General Plan Update.
