SUBJECT: Presentation – Trauma Center Program Update
Receive a presentation from Marian Regional Medical Center regarding the Trauma Center Program.
BACKGROUND:
Marian Regional Medical Center is a 191 -bed medical facility home to a broad array of services including a trauma center, neonatal intensive care unit, cardiac care center, and a cancer program. In 2022, Marian Regional Medical Center Trauma Center was verified as Level II by the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons.
DISCUSSION:
As a Level II Trauma Center , the emergency department provides prompt asse ssment, resuscitation, and stabilization of injured patients. Key elements of Marian’s Level II Trauma Center include 24-hour immediate coverage by emergency medicine physicians and the availability of general surgeons and anesthesiologists.
Dr. Sjoholm, Marian’s Trauma Medical Director, and Lisa Abeloe, the Trauma Program Manager, will present an update regarding the Trauma Center program.
