RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
LEASE EXTENSION FOR PIONEER PARK AT SANTA MARIA
PUBLIC AIRPORT DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Maria and the Santa Maria Public Airport District entered into a Land Lease on July 14, 1994, covering the property on the southeast corner of Blosser Road and Foster Road at Santa Maria Public Airport, which houses Pioneer Park; and
WHEREAS, the existing lease is set to expire on January 31, 2024, and in order to provide stability for the continued operation of Pioneer Park, the City Council deems it necessary to approve a Five-Year Lease Extension effective February 1, 2024;
WHEREAS, to ensure the continuous use and operation of Pioneer Par k during the formulation of the new lease agreement, an interim extension of the existing lease is necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby approves a Five-Year Lease Extension of the Land Lease dated July 14, 1994, between the Santa Maria Public Airport District and the City of Santa Maria, effective February 1, 2024, and expiring on January 31, 2029, unless sooner terminated. The City Manager, or the ir designee, is hereby authorized to undertake all necessary actions for the implementation and execution of this lease extension.
2. The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make m inor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Attorney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
