RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN
AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES WITH 2 MEXICANS, LLC DBA 2M WASTE
SOLUTIONS TO EXTEND THE TERM BY THREE YEARS AND
ALLOW UP TO ANOTHER $250,000 TO BE SPENT ON DEBRIS
REMOVAL SERVICES OVER THE EXTENSION OF THE
CONTRACT
WHEREAS, on a regular basis, City staff responds to concerns of nearby abandoned debris from encampments of unhoused indi viduals and hires local trash hauling services to assist; and
WHEREAS, in January of 2023, a contract was entered into with 2M Waste Solutions for debris removal services for one year with the option to extend for three more years by mutual consent of the parties, and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes a need for continuous cleanup and wants to handle it in an efficient manner; and
WHEREAS, the City has utilized approximately $162,000 in services during the initial term of the contract; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City’s best interest to extend the contract for a three-year period and to increase the not -to-exceed amount of the contract to $250,000 over the total of the extension term.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the C ity of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into the amendment.
2. The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make minor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Attorney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
