Subject: City Council Meeting- Lot 1
*** EXTERNAL EMAIL: Please use caution when opening links or attachments.*** Dear Mr. Cheun Wu,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my earnest support for moving forward with the plan for Lot 1 development in Santa Maria by the Vernon Group. As we've recently discussed, this project holds immense potential to not only enhance our city's infrastructure but also to address pressing issues such as job creation and housing shortages.
Given the current landscape of our city, it's evident that we are in need of initiatives that can stimulate economic growth and provide sustainable solutions to our housing crisis. The Lot 1 development presents a significant opportunity to achieve both these objectives simultaneously along with spruce up our downtown as we have been discussing for years with the "downtown revitalization".
In light of the discussions at the recent housing summit, it has become even more apparent that the demand for housing in our city is reaching critical levels. By advancing with the development of Lot 1, we can take proactive steps to alleviate this demand and provide adequate housing for both current residents and those who are relocating to Santa Maria for work opportunities.
I believe it is crucial to address any concerns regarding parking head-on. While parking may understandably be a concern for all stakeholders to include myself, it's essential to emphasize that there are viable solutions in place to accommodate the increased traffic that this development may bring. With the presence of the mall parking, boasting over 3,000 spots, in addition to the parking spaces mandated by the state for each development, we have more than sufficient capacity to meet the needs of residents, employees, and visitors alike.
I urge you to consider the broader benefits that the Lot 1 development can bring to our city and to place it prominently on the agenda for further discussion and action. By doing so, we can demonstrate our commitment to progress and prosperity for Santa Maria and its residents.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to seeing this project come to fruition and to the positive impact it will have on our community.
Sincerely,
🌺 Tere Paredes
