RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA, TO AMEND THE
AGREEMENT WITH THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, Jason Stillwell resigned from his position of City Manager on August 9, 2023, and retired effective September 22, 2023; and
WHEREAS, on September 15, 2023, Alex Posada executed an agreement to serve as Interim City Manager until June 30, 2024 , and City Council ratified that agreement on October 3, 2023; and
WHEREAS, due to an unsuccessful recruitment, the City Council has requested to issue a new Request for Proposals for recruitment services; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Posada’s current contract expires on June 30, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the recruitment process will take longer than the remaining time left of Mr. Posada’s contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
1. The City Council of the City of Santa Maria approves a new Employment Agreement and salary modification with Alex Posada for Interim City Manager services until September 30, 2024, and authorizes the Mayor to sign and execute the Agreement; and
2. The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make m inor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Attorney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
