Alvin Newton Apartments (Lot 3) is a 6-story building with 5 stories containing 82 market rate apartments over a podium for parking and commercial use that replacing a vacant lot. The architectural aesthetic combines contemporary elements with traditional Spanish style, reinforcing Santa Maria’s heritage on the prominent corner of Broadway and Main Street. Amenities include a large rooftop deck for residents, street facing retail with outdoor seating areas, direct access to the adjacent parking structure with EV charging stations, and a memorial plaza dedicated to a local firefighter for public gathering space.
The Lofts (Fallas) is an adaptive reuse of the former ‘Fallas’ building, with 104 loft-style apartments in 2 stories of double- height loft spaces. Its contemporary architectural style is a contemporary take on the Spanish style traditional to the area.
The conversion will utilize the existing red-beam structure to create central courtyard with double-loaded corridors for apartments ranging 600 to 1,200 SF . Parking for residents and visitors is provided in adjacent parking conveyed to us by the City. Amenities include a landscaped interior courtyard, and a generously sized rooftop terrace for residents, and bike storage.
