SUBJECT: Adoption of a Resolution Approving an Amendment to the Employment Agreement for Interim City Manager Services
Description:
The City Council will consider approving an amendment to the Employment Agreement with Alex Posada for Interim City Manager Services.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Resolution approving an amendment to the Employment Agreement for Interim City Manager Services.
BACKGROUND:
On June 4, 2024, the City Council approved an agreement with Alex Posada to continue serving as the Interim City Manager. This agreement was to allow time for a second recruitment to occur in search of a permanent City Manager.
The new agreement did not take into consideration the end of the pay period. This amendment is to cover the remaining four days from the end of the agreement on September 30, 2024, to the end of the pay period on October 4, 2024.
DISCUSSION:
The City is in its second round of recruitment seeking a City Manager. The agreement that was approved on June 4 was to cover this additional recruitment period. This amendment is to align the current contract with the pay period ending date.
Fiscal Considerations
The City will continue to realize an annual salary savings as the Interim City Manager’s salary is lower than an anticipated incoming permanent City Manager.
