Description:
The City Council will consider designating Mayor Alice M. Patino as the voting de legate and Assistant City Manager Chuen Wu as the alternate for the League of California Cities Annual Conference.

RECOMMENDATION:
By way of Minute Order, the City Council designates Mayor Alice M. Patino as the voting delegate and Assistant City Manager Chuen Wu as the alternate for the League of California Cities Annual Conference.
BACKGROUND:
Each year, as a component of the City’s membership in the League of California Cities (League), Voting Delegates are appointed to represent the City’s position on resolutions at the Annual Business Meeting of the League’s Annual Conference. This year’s annual conference is being held Wednesday, October 16th through Friday, October 18th, 2024, in Long Beach, California.
DISCUSSION:
Before the League meeting, a city must have its City Council designate a voting delegate and alternate (in the event the voting delegate cannot serve in that capacity) to vote at the Annual Business Meeting.
The League membership considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy. The League will finalize and distribute a packet of resolutions by the end of September.
2 Fiscal Considerations
Sufficient funds are budgeted for participation in this conference.
Impact to the Community
The conference provides valuable networking and educational opportunities.
