RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MARIA,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN OPERATING AGREEMENT WITH THE
SANTA MARIA VALLEY MUSEUM OF FLIGHT
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of increasing the well-being of the City through the preservation, exhibition, and promotion of the historical and cultural resources of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Maria Valley Museum of Flight (Museum of Flight) is operating a historical museum within a building constructed on land made available to it by the City.
THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
1) An Operating Agreement with the Museum of Flight is hereby approved, retroactive to July 1, 2024; and
2) The City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized and directed to pay the Museum of Flight the sum of:
Prior to January 1, 2024 ............................................................... $ 10,000 After January 1, 2025, and prior to June 30, 2025 ....................... 10,000 2024-25 Total $20,000
Prior to January 1, 2025 ................................................................ $ 10,000 After January 1, 2026, and prior to June 30, 2026 ....................... 10,000 2025-26 Total $20,000
3) The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Operating Agreement on behalf of the City; and
4) The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make minor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Attorney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
