RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MARIA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A BILLING RATE
AMENDMENT TO CURRENT AGREEMENTS FOR LAW
ENFORCEMENT SERVICES BETWEEN THE SANTA MARIA
POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE SANTA MARIA JOINT
UNIFIED HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City has been providing law enforcement services for the Santa Maria Joint Unified High School District (SMJUHSD) since 1997, and both the City and the SMJUHSD desire to continue this partnership as it relates to law enforcement services, and have agreed in principle as to the cost for services and the scope of work ; and
WHEREAS, both the City and SMJUHSD desire to amend the Agreements upon the original terms pursuant to City of Santa Maria City Council Resolution No. 2023-112, passed and adopted on August 1, 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, that the City Council authorizes the following:
1. The City Manager o r designee is hereby authorized and directed to execute the amendment on behalf of the City and to take all steps necessary to implement and sustain the program.
2. The City Council of the City of Santa Maria hereby authorizes and directs the Chief of Police, or his designee, to enter into extensions and execute amendments consistent with the terms of th e amended Agreements, in order to comply with billing rates set forth by the City of Santa Maria.
3. The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make minor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Atto rney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
