RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MARIA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR
WHALE TAIL® GRANT PROGRAM FUNDING FROM THE
CALIFORNIA COASTAL COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the California Coastal Commission awards grants for projects that align with Division 20 of the Public Resources Code and support the Commission’s mission to protect and enhance California’s coast and ocean for current and future generations; and
WHEREAS, the California Coastal Commission requires tha t the governing body of the applicant approve the application for grant funding and authorize a designated representative to execute a grant agreement subject to the Commission’s terms and conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
1. The City Council approves the filing of the project proposal for Whale Tail® Grant Program funding from the California Coastal Commission; and
2. The City Council authorizes the Director of the Recreation and Parks Department, or his designee, to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, and payment requests, as may be necessary for the completion of the project scope; and
3. The City Council agrees to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, and guidelines in the execution and performance of the grant.
