DISCUSSION:
At the City Council meeting of June 4th, 2024, the City Council adopted a Resolution initiating the proceedings to establish and levy the 202 4-25 Landscape Maintenance District Assessments for the ongoing maintenance of landscape facilities served by the Northwest, Northeast, and Southwest Landscape Maintenance District.
This item directs staff to add these assessments for Alvin Newton Apartments to the Northeast, Bradley Commercial , and Casa Del Bambini to the Southeast Landscape Maintenance Districts on the County of Santa Barbara Property Tax Roll.
2 Fiscal Considerations
The annual costs of landscape maintenance are assessed against the b enefited properties within said Districts. These assessments are reflective of the cost associated with the upkeep of public landscaping within these Districts.
Impacts to the Community
These annexations and assessments provide for the maintenance of landscaping in perpetuity. The assessments generate a funding base to help finance the majority of the landscape maintenance costs within each of the respective districts named in this report, which in turn allows the City of Santa Maria to provide the highest level of service to residents.
