RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
WEST COAST ARBORIST FOR TREE MAINTENANCE SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City is in need of securing citywide tree maintenance services, and wish to do so in the most cost-effective and expeditious manner; and
WHEREAS, West Coast Arborist has provided this service for the City for more than 10 years , with an excellent performance record, and maintains the professional and technical knowledge to provide these services to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City’s Purchasing Guidelines cooperative purchasing clause, allows for the City to use another jurisdiction’s competitive bidding process as a basis to award a “piggyback” contract; and
WHEREAS, the City has found that the City of Carpinteria’s current contract with West Coast Arborist, is s ufficiently similar in scope, pricing and was award less than 12 months ago, that it could be used to “piggyback” and award a new contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California as follows:
SECTION 1. That the above recitals are true and correct.
SECTION 2. West Coast Arborist is awarded a contract to perform professional tree care services Citywide.
SECTION 3. That the City Council authorizes the Director of Recreation & Parks or designee to execute the agreement on the City’s behalf.
SECTION 4 . The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby aut horized to make m inor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Attorney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
