Measure U Oversight Committee
• Measure U Oversight Committee held its annual meeting on January 27, 2025.
• The Committee was presented with unaudited financial
statements for Measure U for the Fiscal Year 2023-24.
• The Committee made several inquiries regarding the financials and timing of expenditures for Capital Improvement Program. • The Committee unanimously voted to prepare the annual report for Council review submitting that the information is accurately reflected in financial statements and follows the Council policy to that 90 percent of Measure U will be spent on public safety, 5 percent on youth, and 5 percent on quality of life.
Fiscal Year 2023-24 Measure U Budget
• On June 20, 2023, City Council adopted $36,089,629 in appropriations for the fiscal year.
• Funds 183 full-time and part-time positions
• Funded additional services in the Police Department, Fire Department, Recreation & Parks, Library, Code Enforcement, and City Managers office.
• Utilized $9.2 million from reserves.
• $4.5 million from prior year adopted budget were carried forward for approved but not finished projects increasing total FY 2023-24 appropriations to $40,618,590.
