SUBJECT: Proclamation – “Red Cross Month” - March 2025
The City Council will recognize the month of March 2025, as “Red Cross Month” in the City of Santa Maria and encourage support to its humanitarian mission.
BACKGROUND:
The American Red Cross, founded by Clara Barton in 1881, continues its mission to prevent and alleviate suffering through the dedication of volunteers and donors worldwide. In Santa Maria, local Red Cross supporters provide emergency aid, blood donations, and vital services to those in need. This March, the City of Santa Maria joins the nation in recognizing their compassionate efforts and end uring commitment to humanitarian service.
