RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE LEGISLATIVE PLATFORM TO GUIDE THE
CITY’S LEGISLATIVE AND INTERGOVERNMENTAL ACTIVITIES
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Maria does not have a Legislative Platform; and
WHEREAS, often there is insufficient time for the City Council to take formal action on a particular project or piece of legislation; and
WHEREAS, the City would like to establish a Legis lative Platform to facilitate the City’s quick response to County, State, and Federal legislation and proposals in a proactive manner,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. approves the Legislative Platform (Attachment B to the Council Agenda Report) to guide the City’s legislative and intergovernmental activities; and
SECTION 2. The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make m inor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Attorney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
