SUBJECT: Bond Release for Public Improvement Plan Number PIP2022-0001
Description:
The City Council will consider authorizing the bond release for Public Improvement Plan Number PIP2022-0001 located at 512 East Chapel Street.
Environmental Notice: The activity is not a “Project” as defined under Section 15378 of the California Environmental Quality Act State Guidelines; therefore, pursuant to State Guidelines Section 15060(c)(3) no environmental review is required.
RECOMMENDATION:
Accept as complete the public improvements associated with Public Improvement Plan Number PIP2022-0001 (Building Permit Number B21-2165) at 512 East Chapel Street, and authorize the release of Faithful Performance Bond [#0832197] in the full amount of $151,822.25 posted in the form of a surety to guarantee public improvements; and order that the Labor and Material Bond in the mou nt of $75,911.13 and the Guarantee and Defective Material Bond in the amount of $15,182.23 be retained for six months and one year, respectively, from the date of the release of the Faithful Performance Bond for public improvements.
BACKGROUND:
The Public Improvements as required by the Community Clinic, Building Permit Number B21-2154, dated June 29, 2022. The public improvements generally consisting of curb, gutter, and sewer as identified on the approved Public Improvement Plans or as directed by the Director of Public Works/City Engineer.
DISCUSSION:
At the request of the developer, inquiries were sent to various departments on February 12, 2025, requesting authorization to release the Faithful Performance Bond in the original amount of $151,822.25. Full releases were granted by each department.
