SUBJECT: Adoption of a Resolution Cancelling May 20, 2025, City Council Meeting
Description:
The City Council will consider canceling the regular City Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
Environmental Notice: The activity is not a “Project” as defined under Section 15378 of the California Environmental Quality Act State Guidelines; therefore, pursuant to State Guidelines Section 15060(c)(3) no environmental review is required.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Resolution canceling the regular City Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
BACKGROUND:
Section 2-1.01 of the Santa Maria Municipal Code sets the time, day, and place for holding City Council meetings to discuss items of City business. The City Council has the authority to cancel meetings.
DISCUSSION:
Staff recommends City Council cancel the second meeting in May, and address items that arise between now and at the June 3, 2025, regular City Council Meeting.
Impact to the Community
While the public will not have the ability to bring concerns to the City Council on May 20, 2025, Councilmembers and staff remain available by email or telephone to address residents’ concerns during the regular business days prior to the June 3 rd meeting and thereafter.
