SUBJECT: Proclamation – “Toastmasters International District 33 Day” – May 17th, 2025
The City Council will recognize May 17th, 2025, as “Toastmasters International District 33 Day” in the City of Santa Maria.
BACKGROUND:
Toastmasters International is a global nonprofit that helps individuals develop public speaking and leadership skills. District 33 (District), established in 1949, serves Central California with around 125 clubs and 1,400 members. The District fosters personal and professional growth through workshops, contests, and support. On May 17, 2025, Santa Maria will host the Annual District 33 Conference, featuring contests, leadership sessions, and an award luncheon honoring Kim Colby Davis of CASA. The City of Santa Maria commends Toastmasters for its positive impact on individuals and the community.
