Santa Maria Police Department Annual Military
Equipment Use Report
June 2024-June 2025

The Santa Maria Police Department is committed to transparency, public trust, community partnerships, and compliance with the law. As such, the Department has authored the following Annual Military Equipment Use Report following annual reporting requirements outlined in California Government Code section 7072.

The use of military equipment is restricted to use during certain situations and only allowed by trained personnel. The Department's milita ry equipment is continuously evaluated, and its use is influenced by law, policy, and the benefit it provides to public safety.

This Annual Military Equipment Use Report outlines a summary of military equipment use, inventory, fiscal impact, complaints, and reported concerns from the 12 -month period of June of 2024 to June of 2025.
