SUBJECT: Proclamation – “AmeriCorps National Service”
The City Council will present a Proclamation in strong support of continued investment in local service initiatives through AmeriCorps National Service.
BACKGROUND:
AmeriCorps is a national service program that addresses critical community needs through volunteerism. In Northern Santa Barbara County, AmeriCorps Home for Good members have provided vital support to unhoused individuals, at-risk youth, and veterans.
With federal funding at risk, local leaders support creating a Santa Barbara County Service Corps to continue this essential work.
