RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO
ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH SANTA
BARBARA COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
FOR USE OF THE GENASYS EVAC MAPPING SOLUTION
WHEREAS, in 2023 the Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management was awarded Homeland Security Grant Program funding to bring the Genasys EVAC software solution to Santa Barbara County; and
WHEREAS, the Genasys EVAC solut ion is designed for use by first responders and emergency managers and pre -identifies emergency zones for all of Santa Barbara County, including the number of structures in the area, daytime/nighttime population numbers, critical evacuation facilities, key infrastructure, and hazard information; and
WHEREAS, County residents and all eight incorporated cities, fire protection districts, and key public safety agencies in the County will benefit from the use of the software.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RE SOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or designee is hereby authorized to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management; and
SECTION 2. The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make m inor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Attorney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
