RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING A SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
J.D. HUMANN, INC. FOR CITYWIDE LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Maria is in need of securing Citywide landscape maintenance services; and
WHEREAS, on April 22, 2025, the City issued a Notice Inviting Sealed Request for Proposals (RFP) for the provision and service of landscape maintenance (RFP RP-2025- 01); and
WHEREAS, four companies submitted proposals and four proposals complied with the bid instructions, allowing them to proceed to the review; and
WHEREAS, City’s Purchasing Guidelines competitive proposals following the “Best Value” procedure, and Santa Maria Municipal Code §3-4 were followed; and
WHEREAS, J.D. Humann , Inc. submitted a Proposal the City has deemed acceptable, and has provided a staffing plan that has been deemed acceptable, has extensive knowledge, and is qualified to provide the needed services, and is willing t o provide those services on mutually agreeable terms; and
WHEREAS, a recommendation to award the contract to J.D. Humann Landscaping, Inc. is made by the Director of Recreation and Parks.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California as follows:
SECTION 1. The above recitals are true and correct; and
SECTION 2. J.D. Humann , Inc. is awarded a Services Agreement to perform landscape maintenance services Citywide; and
SECTION 3. The terms of the agreement is for three years; and
SECTION 4. The City Council authorizes City Manager or desginee to execute the agreement on the City’s behalf.
SECTION 5 . The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make m inor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Attorney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
