SUBJECT: Adoption of Ordinance No . 2025-03, Amending the Santa Maria Municipal Code Title 2 “Administration,” Chapter 2 -14 “Recr eation and Parks Commission,” Section 2 -14.06 “Recommendations to Council: Powers Generally” and Title 10 “Recreation and Parks,” Chapter 10 -1 “Administration,” Section 10 -1.02 “Adoption of Regulations”
Description:
The City Council will conduct the sec ond reading to adopt Ordinance No. 2025-03 amending Section 2 -14.06 and Section 10 -1.02 relating to the Recreation and Parks Commission and authorizing the Commission to approve fees for recreation programs as defined herein.
Environmental Notice: The activity is not a “Project” as defined under Section 15378 of the California Environmental Quality Act State Guidelines; therefore, pursuant to State Guidelines Section 15060(c)(3) no environmental review is required.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Ordinance No . 20 25-03, Amending the Santa Maria Municipal Code Title 2 “Administration,” Chapter 2 -14 “Recreation and Parks Commission,” Section 2 -14.06 “Recommendations to Council: Powers Generally” and Title 10 “Recreation and Parks,” Chapter 10-1 “Administration,” Section 10-1.02 “Adoption of Regulations”
BACKGROUND:
At its regular meeting held June 17, 2025, the City Council received a staff report and introduced Ordinance No. 2025-03, amending Title 2, Chapter 2 -14, Sections 2-14.06 and Title 10, Chapter 10 -2, 10-1.02 relating to the Recreation and Parks Commission and authorizing the Commission to approve fees for recreation programs and approved the adoption of said ordinance at the next Regular City Council meeting of July 1, 2025.
DISCUSSION:
This constitutes t he second reading and adoption of Ordinance No. 2025-03. This Ordinance will become effective 30 days after its adoption.
