A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO AN AGREEMENT WITH
THE SANTA MARIA VALLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City has for many years contracted with outside entities for economic development services to attract and retain and expand existing industries to the City and its environment; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) has special knowledge, experience, skills, and facilities for promotional and advertising work related to attracting businesses to Santa Maria; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to secure the services of the Chamber to perform certain services to develop and maintain tourism, conventions, and retail sales within the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. Approve the amendment to the agreement; and
SECTION 2 . Authorize City Manager or designee to pay the Chamber for Economic Development Services the sum of:
Prior to January 1, 2026……………………………………………………$126,937.50 After January 1, 2026, and prior to June 30, 2026………………………...81,937.50 2025-26 Total $208,875.00
SECTION 3. The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make m inor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Attorney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
