Dear Santa Maria Chamber and Santa Barbara County Executive Assistant,
I want to thank Suzanne for pointing out the mention of Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) during a recent Santa Maria City Council Meeting on a downtown housing development project. I want to clear the air on the mention of VSFB during public comment. During the Santa Maria City Council meeting yesterday, public comments were made citing a Vandenberg SFB employee’s assessment regarding a downtown housing development project. The individual who spoke did so in their personal capacity, and the opinions they expressed are entirely their own. These views do not represent the official positions of the Department of Defense (DOD) or the Department of the Air Force, and the DOD has not issued any formal stance on the project.
