SUBJECT: Businesses of the Quarter – July to September 2025
The City Council will present certificates to the featured Businesses of the Quarter (July to September 2025) – Benedetti & Associates, CPA, Inc., and M&W Pumps, Inc.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Santa Maria and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce are partnering to highlight different businesses in the City through a Business of the Quarter Program.
On four occasions this calendar year, this program will recognize local businesses chosen by the Chamber. The criteria are: Approximately 20 employees; in operation for at least five years; physically located within the City Limits; and being a local Chamber of Commerce member in good standing. Not only does this give them valuable exposure, it also reminds the community of the unique, diverse, and long-standing businesses we are fortunate to have in Santa Maria.
Benedetti & Associates is located at 2151 South College Drive, Suite 101. Trent Benedetti opened a local tax and bookkeeping business in October 1982 and began operating as a corporate Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm on October 1, 2000. Today , the eight- person full-service CPA accounting firm offers a broad range of services for business owners, executives, and independent professionals. Mr. Benedetti believes in volunteering to give back to the community. He has worked with youth sports, the Boy Scouts of America, Chamber activities, government committees , and his local church.
Representing the business tonight is Trent Benedetti.
M&W Pumps is located at 1226 Furukawa Way #A. Established in 1961, this family owned and operated business has been serving the community for over six decades . Current owners Frank and Lisa Morales took the reins in 2006 and are the third generation of the founding family. The eight -person business installs and services water well pumps and booster systems for agri cultural, residential, municipal, commercial and industrial customers. The pumps they install provide water for uses ranging from farm fields, greenhouses, ranch animal troughs, golf courses, homes not connected to public water supplies, and to car washes, laundromats, and hotels. Representing the business tonight are Frank and Lisa Morales.
