SUBJECT: Adoption of a Resolution Adding a Regular City Council Meeting on December 2, 2025, and Canceling the Regular City Council Meeting on December 16, 2025
Description:
The City Council will consider adding a regular City Council meeting on December 2, 2025, and canceling the regular City Council meeting on December 16, 2025.
Environmental Notice: The activity is not a “Project” as defined under Section 15378 of the California Environmental Quality Act State Guidelines; therefore, pursuant to State Guidelines Section 15060(c)(3) no environmental review is required.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Resolution adding a regular City Council meeting on December 2, 2025, and canceling the regular City Council meeting on December 16, 2025.
BACKGROUND:
Section 2-1.01 of the Santa Maria Municipal Code sets the time, day, and place for holding City Council meetings to discuss items of City business. The City Council has the authority to cancel meetings due to a lack of quorum or lack of business items.
DISCUSSION:
The City Council approved a regular meeting schedule for 2025 on December 17, 2024.
The calendar did not include a regular meeting on December 2, 2025, but did include a meeting on December 16, 2025.
Alternative(s)
The City Council can decide not to add the December 2, 2025, regular meeting or cancel the December 16, 2025, meeting and meet as scheduled on the previously approved calendar.
Fiscal Considerations
There is no foreseeable fiscal impact as a result of this agenda item.
2 Impact on the Community
Staff does not anticipate an impact on the community for the addition of the December 2, 2025, City Council meeting or the cancellation of the December 16, 2025, City Council meeting.
