A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA
AUTHORIZING AND DESIGNATING ADDITIONAL FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $98,853 WITHIN THE APPROVED BUDGET FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2025-26, TO THE WELL 12S
REHABILITATION PROJECT, BID NO. 2024-15
WHEREAS, on February 18, 2025, the City of Santa Maria awarded Bid No. 2024- 15 to Kaweah Pump Inc. in the amount of $349,615 for the Well 12S Rehabilitation Project; and
WHEREAS, the original construction contract was $349,615 with a 20 percent contingency of $69,923, and an estimated 12 percent for inspection, testing, and staff time, for approved Project funding of $461,492; and
WHEREAS, four change orders totaling $168,776 were necessary, resulting in a final Project cost of $560,345, exceeding the approved contingency by $98,853; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends increasing Project funds from the Utilities Department’s approved budget; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in Account No. SC7340|CC0280|FD620| PRJ-00000301 to increase the approved budget for the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Maria, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. Authorizes and designates an additional $98,853 for the Well 12S Rehabilitation Project, Bid No. 2024-15, for a revised project budget of $560,345, to be funded from SC7340|CC0280|FD620|PRJ-00000301; and
SECTION 2. The Chief Deputy City Clerk is hereby authorized to make minor changes herein to address clerical errors, so long as substantial conformance of the intent of this document is maintained. In doing so, the Chief Deputy City Clerk shall consult with the City Manager and City Attorney concerning any changes deemed necessary.
