Dear Esteemed Council members:
I am a concerned citizen and resident of Santa Maria.
I am concerned about recent news from The Independent stating that:
"144 people have been taken by ICE from Santa Maria recently, and 1,430 people have been taken from the tri-counties."
The questions I have for the city council to address are:
Do you know the names of these missing people?
Do you know where these missing people have gone?
Have you been in touch with their families?
I am writing this letter of concern in lieu of protesting at City Hall today.
I urge you to listen to our concerned community members.
The City Council must take a strong and principled stand to keep our city and residents safe by protecting and supporting our undocumented neighbors.
