AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
This Amendment No. 1 to Agreement for Professional Services between J.D. Humann Landscaping, Inc., a California Corporation (“Contractor”) and the City of Santa Maria, a California Municipal Corporation and charter city (“City”), in Santa Maria, California, based on the following recitals:
1. J.D. Humann submitted a proposal (RP-2025-01) that the City deemed acceptable and has extensive knowledge and is qualified to provide the services needed and is willing to provide those services on mutually agreeable terms; and
2. The parties entered into an Agreement for Professional Services on July 1, 2025; and
3. J.D. Humann was authorized to provide Extra Services of up to $350,000.00 per year under Exhibit “C” of the agreement. Staff directed J.D. Humann to perform approved landscape renovations throughout the City Landscape Maintenance Districts . This work has been performed and accepted by City staff; and
4. Unplanned for renovation work to renovate the median island of Miller St reet between Santa Maria Way and Highway 135 was requested after City Council votes to designate this area James “Jim” Glines Way and the total Extra Services budget had been utilized for Fiscal Year 2025-2026; and
5. Additional Extra Services authorized in Exhibit C are necessary during the remainder of Fiscal Year 2025-2026; and
6. Appropriate funds are available from the Landscape Districts and Measure A – Gas Tax accounts. No further work will be done for the current fiscal cycle un the Extra Services provision; and
7. The not-to-exceed amount for Extra Services needs to be raised by $ 240,000 to complete necessary work during the remainder of the fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED:
1. The not-to-exceed amount of $350,000 for Exhibit C Extra Work Services for Contract RP- 2025-01 is increased by the additional $240,000 to $590,000 for Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
2. The City Manager or their designee is authorized to execute this agreement.
3. All other terms of the Agreement remain unchanged.
