SUBJECT: Adoption of Ordinance No s. 2026-07 and 2026 -08 Amending Various Sections of Title 12 – Zoning, Relating to Child Day Care Centers, Non- Taxable Merchandise Limitations, Transitional and Supportive Housing, Density Bonus, and Accessory Dwelling Units
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Waive second reading and adopt Ordinance No. 2026-07, amending various sections of Title 12 – Zoning of the Santa Maria Municipal Code relating to Child Day Care Centers, Non-Taxable Merchandise Limitations, Transitional and Supportive Housing, and Density Bonus; and
2. Waive second reading and adopt Ordinance No. 2026-08, amending Title 12 – Zoning, Chapter 12-56, “Accessory Dwelling Units” of the City of Santa Maria Municipal Code.
BACKGROUND:
At its regular meeting held on August 4, 2026, the City Council introduced Ordinance Nos. 2026-07 and 2026-08. This constitutes the second reading and adoption of Ordinances 2026-07 and 2026 -08. These ordinances become effective 30 days after City Council adoption.
