Subject: ITEM 3.E.Approval of Modification to Agreement with The Active Network Inc. for Recreation Management Software System
EXTERNAL
Dear Mayor Himmelrich and City Council Members:
I am writing to you regarding "ITEM 3.E.Approval of Modification to Agreement with The Active Network Inc. for Recreation Management Software System" Staff is recommending that Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a fourth modification to agreement #10517 (CSD) in the amount of $100,000 with the Active Network Inc. to provide a cloud-based, hosted, recreation-management software system for the Community Services Department. The proposed modification would result in a 12-year amended agreement with a new total amount not to exceed $538,825, with future-year funding contingent on Council budget approval."
I ask City Council to require staff to include an upfront notice to users that explains where and how to opt-out of third-party sharing and to provide Notice on how to DELETE a child's account from the system. Opt Out's should trigger the Active Network system to NEVER be an after-the-fact option which lets the vendor start sharing data immediately.
Additionally, the City needs to find a less intrusive service than this one as soon as possible.
Thank you.
