Dear SM City Council,
My husband and I live on Ocean Avenue between Wilshire Boulevard and Arizona Avenue in Santa Monica. We enjoy the permitted performers on the promenade.
We are in favor of the amendment to the ordinance particularly the inclusion of the requirements for performers in the buffer zones and the enforcement of those requirements by the appropriate authorities.
In the past we have been unable to peacefully enjoy our home due to a constantly returning non‐permitted performer on the sidewalk at the southwest corner of Arizona Avenue and 3rd Street in an area of the proposed new buffer zone.
His loud music and singing occurs repeatedly up to 4 hours at a time on many nights. We are concerned without the amendment that there will be a continuation and potential increase of dangerous and disruptive non‐permitted performers.
