EXTERNAL
Dear Mayer and Council Members,
I would encourage you to adopt the resolution “supporting tech companies for internet freedom.” It has been over five months that the protests against Islamic Regime started in Iran.  The young people in Iran, lead by women, showed the world how strong and powerful their voices are for demanding basic human rights & freedom!  Hundreds got killed and executed, and thousands were tortured and are still in jail threatened to be executed.

Everywhere in the world people are speaking about the courage of young Iranian people and cheering them on, but they need help! Not interventions from abroad like in the past, but helping them by continuing communicating and educating themselves about the current situation until the victory of their movement.

I, as an Iranian American, am representing a huge Iranian‐ American community in Santa Monica and California. I just want to thank the city of Santa Monica and the council members for bringing this issue of “supporting tech companies for internet freedom” and for caring and supporting the Iranian’s fight for their freedom. I would encourage you all to adopt this resolution for the future success of Iranian democracy.

The Fanatic regime in Iran will go away, and not only will this regime be gone, the young generations will teach the rest of the world how we can be powerful and WIN when we are United and fight together for freedom because we ALL deserve freedom everywhere in the world! Woman, life, freedom
Stop executing, free political prisoners
Warmly,
Jaleh Mirhashemi
