The shelter needs a proper area where dogs can play and exercise and interact with potential adopters and shelter volunteers. Currently, the play area is all dirt which makes it unusable and unpleasant much of the time and it has repeatedly flooded in recent rains. Creating a properly turfed area will greatly benefit shelter dogs’ wellbeing while waiting for their forever home. The estimated total cost of the project is $30,000 and the Foundation plans to seek private donations for the additional monies needed to complete the project.
