On behalf of the Southwest Mountain States Regional Council of Carpenters (“Southwest Carpenters” or “SWMSRCC”), my Office is submitting these comments for the City of Santa Monica’s 7/25/2023 City Council meeting addressing the Introduction and First Reading of an Ordinance Amending the Text of the Zoning Ordinance to Provide Incentives for Certain Housing Project that filed an Application Prior to Implementation of the City’s 6th Cycle (2021-2029) Housing Element (“Project”).
SWMSRCC would like to express its support for this Project and withdraw their prior June 20, 2023 Comment Letter. After receiving clarification and further information about this Project, SWMSRCC believes this Project will benefit the environment and the local economy by utilizing a local skilled and trained workforce and will be built utilizing protocols that will protect worker health and safety.
