Recommended Action
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached Ordinance.
Executive Summary
At its meeting on September 10, 2024, the City Council introduced for first reading an ordinance repealing Santa Monica Municipal Code (SMMC) Chapter 8.38 Zero Emission Building Code, amending SMMC Section 8.08.040 to remove reference to the Zero Emission Building Code, and adopting local amendments to the 2022 California Energy Code under SMMC Chapter 8.36 to support improved energy performance in new buildings. The ordinance is now presented to the City Council for adoption.
