Re: OPPOSE Council action on “minor revision” to SB9, Request that it be REMOVED for full discussion and public comment
Dear City Council,
In the opinion of NOMA's Board, the revisions considered in this evening's Agenda Item 12A are far from "minor" revisions. They will extend the provisions of SB9 beyond the state's intention, allowing corporations rather than individual owners to take advantage of SB9 multi-unit development.

We ask that this item be pulled from consideration until such time as the Council and public can fully consider the implications.

Thank you,
Bruce Leddy

Subject: "City Council 9/24/24 agenda item #12A - Stanford neighbors lawsuit"

EXTERNAL
Hello, I have lived in Santa Monica since 1998, went to Santa Monica high school and my children have all gone through the public schools at Santa Monica (currently).

I strongly oppose corporations or out of state LLC from getting SB9 lot splits on empty lots - not legal by the way the statute was written and certainly not the intent. I support the lawsuit by the Stanford neighbor’s and currently live on Stanford Street.

Re: OPPOSE Council action on “minor revision” to SB9, Request that it be REMOVED for full discussion and public comment
Dear City Council,
On behalf of the residents of all R1 neighborhoods and in the interest of an honest and fair implementation of SB9, this Council must direct staff to remove the proposed “minor revision” (see that language embedded below) from Agenda Item 12A.

There is nothing “minor” about this proposed “cleanup” given that residents are challenging the legality of the proposed SB9 project on Lipton and Stanford.

We ask that this be pulled out for full discussion and not be included as an acceptable “clarification” until the impact and implications are fully explained and discussed.

Thank you
Tricia Crane
