I spoke briefly, but was not able to complete my statement. Please kindly read:
My name is Gary Walkow. I have a couple of pictures to show. I have lived at 2501 Beverley Ave. Apt. 2 for 43 years. I am a writer and live and work in my apartment.
A year ago the neighbor at 2511 Beverley Avenue (immediately adjacent), installed a hedge that is 35 feet high. My bedroom and office are now in permanent darkness, with no direct sunlight because of this tall hedge.
My quality of life, and the quality of life of other residents, has been adversely affected.
Regarding point “5 N” (Code Enforcement) - you state that priorities should align with "how impactful the violation is on the quality of life of nearby residents.” That is exactly the case with this side hedge.
Code Violation officer Santavia Signod has already made a site visit, and they determined the hedge was in violation and should be cut down to 12 feet. This would restore the light to my apartment.
In terms of Code Violation resources, the time has already been invested to correct this situation. With minimal resources this problem can be corrected if the owner is ordered to comply with the code.
Please complete the enforcement of this side hedge that was negatively effected the quality of life of myself and others.
