Dear Council Members,
Given the City’s deepening financial crisis and lack of any coherent revenue strategy, I strongly urge you to oppose Item 4.L. requiring residency for DTSM, Pier Corp, and SM Travel and Tourism posiƟons.
It is imperaƟve that the City be laser focused on is anything that can assist in jumpstarƟng the city’s economic growth. Banning investors and business owners who have huge personal incenƟves to facilitate progress in turning this city’s economy around, solely on the basis of where they live, not only makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, it is completely counterproducƟve to the City’s objecƟves.
The siloed mismanagement of the city’s desƟnaƟon assets combined with the complete absence of a coherent commercial revitalizaƟon plan make the parƟcipaƟon of business people with direct personal incenƟves one of the only resources currently available to the City in its aƩempt at any kind of economic recovery.
