Good afternoon,
My name is Nayeli Lopez, I was born and raised in Santa Monica. I recently graduated from Santa Monica High School and am enrolled in Loyola Marymount University as a Health major. I am extremely concerned of the waste currently contaminating a very important part of attraction and part of the community. Trash is flowing into the ocean due to the lack of money and resources going into improving our storm drains. I hope to swim without worry, bring my family and friends to the beach. If this continues I worry about not only the safety of the marine animals and the environment but for the future of Santa Monica. I urge you councilmen and women to increase the budget, target and provide resources to prevent waste contaminating our environment and community. For the sake of the future generations, please vote yes to keep our oceans clean.
