If you are going to claim that taxpayer money should not be spent on 501c4s like the neighborhood groups, you should absolutely reject this request by Councilperson Zernitskaya to use taxpayer dollars to attend a YIMBY conference.

Good morning council,
I'm writing to support item 16.B for Councilmember Zernitskaya to attend the YIMBYtown 2025 conference in September. Housing affordability continues to be a major issue and Santa Monica is facing a series of huge projects that could help alleviate it. The Councilmember's attendance should help identify creative solutions on how other cities and regions are attacking the issue and how they might be implemented here. This could have enormous benefits, both financial and otherwise, for the city and is well worth investing the travel funds.
