Re: A Request that the City Council Consider Directing the City Manager to approve waving of fees for the GREENwell event organized by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in an amount up to $2,150.
Since 2023, AKA has partnered with the environmental non-profit Heal the Bay of Santa Monica for Coastal Cleanup Day, held on the third Saturday of September. Nearly 20 Alpha Kappa Alpha Southern California chapters, including the Santa Monica chapter, participate in this community service project to help rid the Pacific Ocean, local waterways, and parks of plastic and debris.
GREENwell event at Crescent Park is being organized by Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority, Inc.
Sigma Lambda Omega Chapter on Sunday, September 21, 2025, to celebrate their participation in the Coastal Clean Up Day 2025 event organized by Heal the Bay and sponsored by the City on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
