Date: January 19, 2026
Re: Request of Mayor Pro Tem Zwick and Councilmember Hall that the City Council direct the City Manager to formalize a policy with regard to curb ramp design standards in the city.

Request of Mayor Pro Tem Zwick and Councilmember Hall that the City Council direct the City Manager to formalize a policy with regard to curb ramp design standards in the city.

Specifically, the policy shall establish dual unidirectional curb ramps as the standard for new construction projects where feasible. Additionally, the policy should clarify criteria for determining “technical infeasibility” and require a Deviation from Standards and Technical Infeasibility Report be submitted and posted publicly if dual unidirectional curb ramp construction is not feasible at any location within an intersection that is being improved.

Please agendize this matter for City Council consideration at the January 27, 2026, meeting.
