Hi Ivan,
After a lot of thought, I've decided to resign from the Board for a variety of reasons. I regret that I will not see through my term, and apologize for the inconvenience that this will cause to you and the other Board Members. I have a variety of professional and personal pressures on me in the coming year that
in executing the duties of the position. This has made hearings unenjoyable for me and I believe would make someone else a better candidate for the position. Given this and my projected absences for the year, I do not want to a disservice to the City by remaining in the position. It has been a pleasure to work with you and to serve the City. It has been a nice experience and I will recommend the experience to anyone who asks me. I especially want to thank you for advising the Board and for helping to make our City a better place through your public service.
Must I submit a formal resignation letter to the City Council? Please include my personal email address on the reply this once because I do not want to miss your reply so that I can act in a timely manner.
Best regards,
Melanie
