A special meeting of the Santa Monica City Council was called to order by Mayor Torosis at 8:47 a.m., on Friday, February 6, 2026, at City Council Chambers, 1685 Main Street, Santa Monica, CA.

On order of the Mayor, the City Council convened at 8:46 a.m., with all members present. Councilmember Negrete led the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The City of Santa Monica Statement of Accountability (Land Acknowledgement) was read into the record by Mayor Pro Tern Zwick.
No Councilmembers made disclosures regarding the Levine Act (Govt Code Section 84308).
There were no members of the public present to comment on Closed Session items.
On order of the Mayor, the City Council recessed at 8:50 a.m., to consider Closed Sessions and returned at 3 :49 p.m., to report the following:
5.A. Public employee appointment - Gov. Code § 54957(b): consider public employee appointment; title: City Attorney; Gov. Code § 54957.6: conference with labor negotiator; City negotiator: Mayor/City Manager; unrepresented employee: City Attorney
