Recommended Action
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached Ordinance.
Executive Summary
At its meeting on April 14, 2026, the City Council introduced for first reading an Ordinance amending Santa Monica Municipal Code Chapter 13.02, Property Maintenance, to include conditions which render a dwelling unit untenantable under California Civil Code Section 1941.1 as violations of the Santa Monica Municipal Code.
The ordinance is now presented to the City Council for adoption.
